ITV fans were fuming on Monday’s episode of The Chase (April 28) after dubbing one player the “worst contestant in Chase history”. Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new quizzers onto the show looking to put their general knowledge to the test. As fans tuned in for the primetime show, the former Coronation Street star introduced contestants Richard, Carly, Karen and Danny onto the programme where they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week, the quartet went up against Darragh ‘the Menace’ Ennis who made sure to bring his A-game as he faced off against the wise players. But it was police officer Carly who had fans reeling, after passing on several “obvious” questions in her cash builder round and banking just £3k. She opted for the low offer of £1k against The Menace but on managed to answer one question right before being easily booted off.

“Worst contestant in chase history? I think so,” blasted one fan.
Another penned: “I actually don’t remember seeing such a bad player in my life. Passing on easy questions and terribly guesses on the tougher one. Just awful!” A third slammed: “Why bother coming on the show?”
Carly herself admitted she “wasn’t the brightest bulb in any box” as she waved goodbye to her chance at a cash prize.
One question she flubbed included: “How many red cards are there in total in a standard deck of playing cards?” She answered: “four”, with the correct answer being 26.
Bradley defended the player telling her “it’s alright” and dubbing her questions “tricky”.
She then admitted her family would “probably be hiding behind the pillow embarrassed” by her performance.
