Amanda Holden has issued an emotional appeal to fans after a late-night emergency led her to discover two rescue animals in urgent need of new homes.

Amanda Holden has issued a heartfelt plea to fans after a dramatic late-night emergency involving her beloved family dog. The Britain’s Got Talent judge and her husband Chris Hughes were forced to rush out of their home on Sunday night (May 4) when one of their two pooches, Millie, required urgent medical attention. The couple, who share daughters Lexie and Hollie, found themselves at North Surrey Veterinary Services in East Molesey into the early hours of the morning.

Just 24 hours earlier, Holden had dazzled on-screen during BGT’s second live semi-final — but it was her off-screen panic that had fans concerned. Taking to Instagram on Monday (May 5), Amanda shared a candid update with her 2 million followers. She began: “Hello, this is a little bit of an appeal. I had to pop into the emergency vets last night.”

The TV presenter was quick to reassure fans, saying: “Both of the dogs are absolutely fine now, thanks to North Surrey Veterinary Services in East Mosley.” But while tending to Millie’s medical scare, Amanda was shown two dogs in desperate need of homes — and her emotional plea quickly turned into a viral rescue mission.

“This first one that you’ll see a video of is a gorgeous little dog,” she said, introducing footage of the pup. “He was kicked quite badly in his hip [but] he’s had his operation and he walks with a little bit of a limp.

“He’s absolutely gorgeous. Super, super affectionate, and we loved him when we saw him. He’s between five and six and desperate for a forever home. He was abused, but he is confident.”

Amanda then introduced a second dog named Messy. She went on: “And the other doggie that was there that has been there since January is a lurcher, they’ve named him Messy. He needs somebody who’s got a lot of energy, who likes walking but in a household that doesn’t have a cat. My heart absolutely broke.”
