Reform UK’s Richard Tice was left fuming after appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain where he clashed with Ed Balls
UK Reform’s Richard Tice was livid while appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Wednesday after being “compared to Keir Starmer“. The politician claimed that a comment by the show’s host, Ed Balls, was “insulting” as the pair erupted into a major row.
During a boisterous interview, where they repeatedly butted heads, Ed said to him: “I think it’s really interesting that a year ago, Labour was elected saying ‘we are for change because the other lot have failed’. They sounded just like you. And then, the question is, when you actually get into government, what will you do?”
Mr Tice looked stony-faced as he replied: “Seriously, that’s actually… To say I sound like Keir Starmer is actually an insult in itself.” The two men shouted over each other, with Mr Tice claiming that Reform UK “knew exactly what they were doing, unlike Keir Starmer“.
That was not the only point in the chat where the men descended into chaos. In the very fiery exchange, Ed demanded that Mr Tice did not “patronise” him and Susanna Reid urged him to answer her questions properly.
The MP was on the ITV show to discuss local elections, where he thinks Reform UK should come out on top as he blamed Labour and Conservatives for many of the country’s problems.
While Mr Tice did not appreciate being compared to Sir Starmer, he did go on to draw similarities between Reform UK and former Labour leader Tony Blair.
