A TV host rages at guest as the two engage in a tense row on the UK’s migrant crisis.
One of GB News’ newer TV hosts erupted into a huge row on air with another guest over Britain’s spiralling migrant crisis. The discussion between presenter Matt Goodwin and political commentator Fahima Mohamed became heated while on Michelle Dewberry’s show. Ms Mohamed fumed at Labour for mimicking Reform UK on dealing with the soaring immigration figures, after the prime minister announced he was going to “take back control” of our borders.
Mr Goodwin claimed that British voters say immigration is the country’s number one issue, which is why Sir Keir Starmer released the White Paper last week. “You’re acting as though Keir Starmer is speaking up for this mad, extreme fringe”, he said. “Most people in this country want less immigration. It’s not that hard to figure out.”
However, the commentator hit back, claiming that he was “trying to talk for everyone when it’s not the case”.
She said: “Everywhere else, they do not only mention immigration, there’s much more.
“It’s the only rhetoric I hear from people like yourself and I am not calling you far-right or anything like that but we have to do so much to get this country back in order.
“It’s not just immigration. Immigration is not going to erase any of the economics or the issues there.”
Mr Goodwin responded to these claims, saying that “British people are saying they don’t want to deal with this record breaking number of people”.
“Many of whom are breaking our laws and it’s the British people watching this show being asked to pay £15 billion over the next ten years, £5 million a day for hotels and accommodation,” he added.
“You talk about economics, how about we take that £15 billion by fixing the migrant crisis and build 10 new hospitals for the British people?”
Ms Mohamed jumped in to defend the migrants who are waiting on their immigration status. “People are talking about it like it’s the migrants’ fault,” she said, adding: “It’s not just people coming here and all being criminals as you think. They’re not arrested when they arrive because they seek refuge.
