This year’s Met Gala theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style that casts an eye back over 300 years of Black fashion, the concept of black dandyism and its lasting impact on contemporary style presented an opportunity for “boundary-pushing” looks but many of our favourite stars played it safe while others put on a very risque display.
Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Kim Kardashian opted for chic while others took to the carpet in more eye-catching attire which was certainly going to turn heads.
While it was an evening of picking out your best frock it was also a night full of surprises – as Rihanna unveiled her baby bump announcing her third pregnancy, meanwhile, Halle Berry caused a stir as she flashed her pubic bone in a see-through dress.
Take a scroll through our breakdown of some of the more daring fashion choices on one of the biggest nights in fashion.
Halle Berry
The Oscar-winning actress, 58, caused a stir in plunging, beaded black and sheer striped LaQuan Smith gown – but the A-list beauty risked a major wardrobe malfunction in the sheer dress as she opted for no underwear.
Parts of her midriff and crotch were exposed in the daring ensemble, which she teamed with a cropped black blazer with shoulder pads.
